The Official Visitation of our District Deputy Grand Master
-W.M. Note

I am very pleased to invite you to attend Lodge this month (heck, every month!), as we honor our 50-year, 60-year and 70-year members. To help us accomplish this task, we will also welcome our District Deputy Grand Master D. Todd Ballenger on his Official Visitation.

In addition to the required administrative oversight (partly the purpose of his visit), Brother Todd is always prepared with an enlightening presentation. It is not-to-be-missed. Even more so because Brother Todd is nearing the end of his DDGM term limit, and this may likely be his last Official Visitation to John E. Mair Lodge No. 729.

The appearance of the DDGM sometimes has the ability to elicit anxiety. It’s the ‘Supervisor’ ready to dole out criticism, or even punishment! That has not been my experience. Since leaving the 27th District and joining the 55th District several years back, it has a been my distinct pleasure to get to know Todd personally as I worked my way through the chairs. I am struck by the responsibility required of the DDGM position. Brother Todd is tireless, intelligent, and always personable. I’ve had many occasions to call upon him in order to draw from the well of his Masonic knowledge. He has always obliged. The very least we can do is heed his teaching and to make him proud of the work of our Lodge in return.

Brother Todd is a Friend and exemplary Mason. His positive impact on Freemasonry in our region, and this Lodge in particular, will be felt for years to come. Brethren, please make a point of joining us. Let’s fill the seats and wish him well in all future endeavors.
